The European Investment Bank has agreed to provide €100 million to the University of Limerick towards its Capital Development Plan which will be worth an overall €242 million
The plan which will involve 12 new construction projects is expected to create as many as 100 jobs over the five years it will take to complete.
The scheme includes a new clinical research building at University Hospital Limerick and a new city centre campus.
The position will include 290 full time jobs and 710 construction jobs.
