The Environment Minister has approved funding worth €12.4 million for the Burncourt and Fethard Regional Supply Scheme.
The scheme will be to provide water treatment plants and ancillary works at Cloran, Fethard and Glengarra, Burncourt which are said to be critical elements of the Burncourt and Fethard Regional Water Supply Scheme.
According to Fine Gael TD Tom Hayes who has welcomed the announcement, people have been waiting over 15 years for funding for the scheme,with promises given on several occasions which were never delivered untill now.
