It has been claimed that the recent appointment of North Tipperary County Manager Joe McGrath as the joint manager for the amalgamated council indicates that there is an agenda to increase the influence of North Tipperary in the upcoming reform of the local authorities.
That is according to Deputy McGrath who has said that this appointment was not supposed to have happened untill next year after local elections.
He added that the fact that the appointment occured at this time and almost out of the blue cannot but leave the impression that there is an unspoken agenda to increase the influence of North Tipperary at the expense of the south of the county, which he also fears will suffer from what he describes as an inevitable reduction of services
