Labour Senator Landy has welcomed news that the green light has been given by Government to a new modern postcode system for Ireland.
According to Carrick on Suir representative the post code system will make it easier for post, parcels and other services to reach local households .
The new postcode system he says is the most advanced of its kind in Europe and the first in the world to use unique identifier codes.
Under the new system every household and premises in County Tipperary will now get its own easy to remember 7 character code.
Senator Landy believes that not only will it improve the delivery of post and parcels to homes and businesses but it will make it easier for public services such as ambulances to find locations in remote areas.
