Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said that he has no intention of asking the Moriarty Tribunal if it had examined the money which was referred to in the recently released recording of a phone call said to have been between Michael Lowry and land agent Kevin Phelan.
Mr. Kenny was responding to Labour Party TD Kevin Humphreys who expressed concern at the contents of the recording.
The tapes in question contain a conversation between the two men relating to a €250,000 sum.
Mr. Humphreys has said that the government should ask the inquiry if the sum of money was previously known about.
The Taoiseach, in response, said that he does not intend to reopen the tribunal.
