Martin Quinn, Chairman of the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre in Tipperary Town and past National President of Muintir na Tíre is the Tipperary Association Dublin's person of the Year 2012.
In making the announcement, the association's President Liam Myles said the award is in recognition of Mr Quinn's involment in a large number of community, sporting and voluntary groups.
The Tipperary Association Dublin has also announced that one of the legends of Tipperary hurling Mickey "The Rattler" Byrne , is being honoured as the Hall of Fame Winner for 2012.
A member of the famed Tipperary teams of the 1940's and 1950's the association said that he is still remembered today for his performances over those years .
The Tipperary Person of the Year Award will be presented at the Associations Annual Awards Dinner on Sat 25th May in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel, Dublin.
