Gardai in Tipperary town await the results of a post-mortem before they decide on whether to upgrade the investigation into the death of a man whose body was discovered in the Fawnagown area yesterday.
At around 2 pm yesterday afternoon the body was discovered in a storage pit for liquids at the rear of a house at Fawnagown. A post-mortem is taking place in an effort to identify the body and establish the cause of death. The house and its surroundings are still cordoned off for examination.
The body is believed to be that of missing man Bobby Ryan who was last seen on June 3rd, 2011. Extensive searches have been carried out in the wider area since the unexplained disappearance of the 52-year-old.
