The government, the EU Commission and the banks must stop ignoring the plight of farmers who are currently experiencing feed shortages due to prolonged bad weatherso said Michael Lowry the TD for North Tipperary today.
He has claimed that he has been inundated with calls from farmers who are worried about the future of their livlihoods and their herds due to insufficient stocks of fodder.
He added that in some cases he has been told of animals starving.
The Independent TD is to call upon the Government to intervene to help farms across the country at this difficult time when extra fodder is needed but lending is restricted.
