The Tipperary County Board has today explained why it is opposed to the introduction of the black card system.

This comes ahead of a vote on the black card motion at the anunual congress this weekend in Derry.

The proposed system would if approved, enforce mandatory substitutions for an offence purposefully bringing down an opposition player of tripping an opponent.

Commenting, Tipperary PRO Ger Ryan said the Tipperary County Board does not feel the rule is balanced fairly, could cause confusion among players and make life difficult for referees.
