Tipperary town councillor Brian Rafferty has announced that he is now representing the Fianna Fail party.
The former Independant councillor was accepted into the party at a meeting last Friday.
Speaking of the development Cllr Rafferty who had previously applied to run as a councillor under the Fianna Fail banner said the party most closely represents his views.
He also said that at a time when constituencies are due to change and town councils are to be abolished it is all the more important that councillors have the backing of a political party.
