Two men appeared in court over the weekend after they were arrested near Cahir in County Tipperary as part of a garda investigation into dissident republican activity.
Noel Noonan with an address in Garryown in Limerick and Thomas McMahon with an address in Murroe were arrested alongside a third man on Thursday night.
The third man has subsequently been released and a file has been prepared for the Director of Public Prosecution.
Both men were charged with membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the irish Republican Army.
No application for bail was made and the two men were remanded in custody to appear in court again on February 15th
