The Transport Minister Leo Varadkar is providing funding towards the development of a new link road for Tipperary Town. The purpose of the road is to take traffic out of a congested Tipperary Town by directly connecting the Limerick road with the Bansha Road.
According to Deputy Hayes this morning, the project will be progressed in three phases.
He told Tipperary Mid West Radio that the funding being allocated to the Tipperary town project in this round totals €535,000.
Deputy Hayes, brought the Minister on a tour of Tipperary town last year to view the traffic situation.
During the meeting the Minister met with the Decentralisation group who put forward a case for the link road.
Deputy Hayes, has welcomed the announcement, saying that it further shows the Minister’s commitment to the project. The decentralisation group has welcomed the commitment.
