People are being urged to be cautious when purchasing items from people selling on a door-to-door basis.
The latest warning follows reports of fire extinguishers being offered for sale locally at the moment.
It has emerged that some of those for sale are faulty and do not comply with safety standards. The methods of payment required by some of those selling these products are also said to be questionable.
