Fears that services at Our Lady’s Hospital Cashel were to be downgraded have been allayed upon confirmation by the HSE that the hospital’s x-ray machine will be replaced
There were concerns that a delay in fixing the machine signalled an intention to downgrade the minor injuries unit at the hospital as the unit could not operate effectively without it.
However in a statement issued Independent TD Michael Lowry said he has received an assurance from the HSE that an alternative x-ray machine has been identified and secured.
It is expected that x-ray services at the hospital will resume in two to three weeks
