A new monitoring service, which it is claimed, will see improved communications and enhanced levels of safety and care for people has been launched in Tipperary.
Tipperary has been chosen as one of six counties where the service is being piloted initially for 100 people living with dementia.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland has partnered with Tunstall Emergency Response to launch a service that will see telecare technology installed in patient,s homes.
The technology communicates to the monitoring centre in the event of an incident occuring and this information is then made available through a dedicated web portal to the Alzheimers Society of Ireland.
The service includes movement detectors placed throughout the home to monitor the movements of users.
This announcement has been made just days after a pilot project to find ways to enhance the level of care provided in the community was launched in County Tipperary
